Community Meeting – 100 Weld Street (Weld American) – Thurs, 08/27

The Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) has announced a community meeting for the proposal at 100 Weld Street, the old Weld American property at the corner of Weld and Centre Street.

When: Thursday, August 27, 2015, 6:30 pm

Where: Area E-5 Boston Police Station, 1708 Centre St., West Roxbury

The proponent Horizon Development LLC has officially filed the proposal with the BRA.  The proposal calls for a 4-story,  building comprised of 17 residential condominium units.  The condominiums will be on floors 2-4.  The first floor of the building will have enclosed parking, a multi-purpose room for residents, and storage space.  The building will have 29 parking spots – 18 enclosed on the first floor and an additional 11 spaces outside the building on site.  This proposal is what was presented at the previously-held second community meeting with some modifications.

The official BRA period for Article 80 Small Project review public comment has begun and will run until Thursday, September 10th.  Comments on the proposal must be submitted by that date to Christoper Tracy, Project Manager, Boston Redevelopment Authority, 1 City Hall Square, Boston, MA 02201 or via email at christopher.tracy@boston.gov.  Mr. Tracy may also be reached at 617-918-4259.  The BRA has stated they understand the end of August is not an ideal time for public meetings but they are bound to host a community meeting within thirty days of project submission.  It remains possible the date for public comment will be extended, but please get your comments in by Sept. 10th just in case.

Please note that the city has determined that this project meets all zoning code requirements for the site and is not requiring the proponents to seek any zoning relief or variances from the Zoning Board of Appeals.

The proposal (pdf) may be viewed here.  More information can also be found on the BRA’s website on the project.
